Phosphorus – DCN Interoperability @ SC08

This Phosphorous-Internet2 testbed (i2CAT-UvA-I2) demonstrated the interoperability of multi-domain circuits controlled by different control planes. Phosphorus’ “Harmony” Network Service Plane coordinated access to Bonn’s VIOLA (Vertically Integrated Optical Testbed for Large Applications in DFN); i2CAT’s ARGIA (Canada’s User-Controlled LightPath system); and, Internet2’s Dynamic Circuit Network (DCN) Inter-domain controller (IDC).

The actual demo consisted of showing the setup of a path to VIOLA, i2CAT and Internet2 hosts by making requests in the Harmony NSP web GUI. All hosts ran a VLC streamer, so that when a path was successfully set up, a specific video playing on the VLC streamer from that host would be shown on the screen.
